Why Choose Us

A STUDY OF A SUBCONSCIOUS MIND

Over the course of his career, Dr. Anderson achieved accomplishments that he attributes not primarily to his conscious intellect, but to the extraordinary capabilities of his subconscious mind. This book presents a detailed, evidence-based examination of how his subconscious contributed to scientific discovery, innovation, and problem-solving.

This is not a self-help book and does not provide instructions for personal improvement. Instead, it is a rigorous case study of one individual’s subconscious functioning, intended for readers interested in neuroscience, consciousness, and the unexplored mechanisms of the human mind.

Part I:

Part I is a thorough, introspective exploration of Dr. Anderson’s conscious and subconscious mind.

Part II:

Part II examines the decisive role of the subconscious in Dr. Anderson’s professional achievements.

Appendix

The Appendix explores real-world examples of subconscious mastery beyond the laboratory.

Our Book

FORENSIC ANALYSIS OF THE APRIL 11, 1986 FBI FIREFIGHT

Dr. Anderson is uniquely qualified to analyze the 1986 FBI Miami Firefight—widely regarded as the most deadly firefight in FBI history—and to explain in detail how and why the events unfolded.

He brings extensive expertise in medicine, forensic pathology, firearms, and martial arts, along with decades of research into the human body’s ability to withstand trauma and continue functioning. Dr. Anderson has completed numerous advanced firearms, close-combat, and security training programs, is a certified Glock armorer, and has taught self-defense and weapons-retention courses for law-enforcement agencies.

A 5th-degree Black Belt and certified Taekwondo Master, he served as U.S. National Taekwondo Team Physician (1981–1988) and as an Olympic Team Physician at the 1988 Olympic Games. He is also a national-level karate competitor and AAU Gold Medalist.

The FBI Firefight Study

Dr. Anderson became involved in studying the Miami Firefight after learning about it during advanced firearms training with John Farnham. With assistance from FBI agents who participated in the incident, he produced a preliminary forensic report that drew strong praise from Sergeant David Rivers of Metro-Dade Police, the officer in charge of the original crime scene.

The FBI subsequently engaged with the work, seeking to understand how the two felons—Platt and Matix—continued fighting despite being shot multiple times. Dr. Anderson conducted an unprecedented forensic analysis of every gunshot wound, documenting bullet origin, trajectory, tissue damage, and physiological effect. His work is widely recognized as the most comprehensive forensic analysis of a firefight ever produced.

Publication History and New Edition

The original report was completed in 1996 and distributed exclusively to the FBI and law-enforcement agencies worldwide. A public 20th Anniversary Edition was released in 2006 and has since sold out.

A 40th Anniversary Edition is planned for Spring 2026. It will include the complete prior analysis along with significant new material from Ed Mireles, the hero of the Miami Firefight, and additional previously unpublished insights

Amazing history of the 1986 Miami FBI shootout. Something everyone who carries should read, you will never carry a 9 again, why I carry a 40...

This is a very informative forensic analysis of the infamous 1986 FBI shootout. Some of the author's conclusions are at odds with other reports. You should buy 'FBI Miami Firefight Five Minutes that Changed the Bureau' by Ed Mireles the hero FBI Agent that ended the fight. Also in 'The Ayoob Files The Book' By Massad Ayoob there is a description and analysis of this gun battle

Excellent.....forget everything you've seen Dirty Harry do.....this book tells what it's really like in the field against a determined and sober bad guy, if he would have drugs on board it would have been even worse. motto (from my perspective) buy the biggest caliber you can handle and practice, practice, and then practice some more until it becomes like riding a bicycle. Read it in one sitting , couldn't put it down, very informative.

IF you want to understand anatomy and physiology and what the human body goes through when it experiences blunt force trauma. IF you want to understand survival and close quarter combat THEN this is the book for you! Get it today to better understand the inside track on one of the worst shootouts in American history...

Outstanding, thoroughly researched book. The layout and presentation really gives the reader a second to second understanding of the phases of the shootout. Dr. Anderson presents this information conscientiously and with no aggrandizing Hollywood-like B.S. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys forensic analysis of real world events.

— Vincent A. Aragon

This forensic analysis (FA) only analyses the two felons injuries and the firefight that produced these wounds. The FBI special agent's wounds are not analyzed, but the incident itself is.

Good photographs of the dead felons, along with felon wound analysis, but some very poor photographs of the crime scene. No photographs of the agent's wounds.

This firefight resulted in the FBI taking a hard look at the sidearms furnished to their agents, and shortly thereafter adopted the 10mm pistol as the handgun of choice. The .38 Special and 9mm round did not produce the results demanded of them in this gunfight. Penetration, or more correctly, lack thereof, failed to immediately incapacitate the man with the .223 Remington semi-auto rifle (Michael Platt), ultimately resulting in the death of two FBI agents.

As an aside, the 10mm round has been a little too potent for most law enforcement personnel to handle, so the .40 Smith & Wesson round was developed as a replacement for the 10mm round.

Dr. Anderson did a great job of reassembling and collating the information from several law enforcement sources to produce an outstanding book.

I conduct law enforcement and security duties in the military (and combat operations when deployed), so understanding the effects of gunfire on the human body is an important aspect of those duties, should the occasion ever arise in which deadly force must be utilized. This books reconstructs the movement and actions of the suspects (Platt and Matix) and law enforcement personnel based both on the recollections of those involved, as well as forensic evidence. The book has excellent color and black &white photographs and sketches of the scene and gunshot trauma to the two suspects. It details the physical damage the gunshots had on the two subjects, as well as the impact (or lack of impact) that damage had on the two men.

One of the most important 'lessons' from this book is the incredible amount of punishment the human body can absorb if the individual is determined enough (and this does not even take into account if the individual is under the effects of drugs or other stimulants). For the law enforcement or military professional who has not been in a gunfight, it is critical to understand that the 'bad guys' don't always fall down instantly and die after being shot the first time. Likewise, it is critical for them to build the mindset that if they ever get shot, blown up, etc, that they accept that fact, never give up, and keep on fighting - no matter how bad of a condition they are in. Finally, this book dispels some misconceptions as to the potency of certain types of gunfire (as well as gunfire in general). For example, many people assume that if a subject were to take the blast of 00 buckshot to his/her feet, it would knock them off their feet. Platt took 2 pellets of 00 buck into each foot from a single 12 gauge shot, but it did not knock him off his feet, nor prevent him from continuing to walk.
